Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point Hosts Teen Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon & Awards Ceremony
Hudson, FL (August 14, 2009) - Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point hosted their Annual Teen Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon & Awards Ceremony on August 8. More than 25 teens along with their family members attended the ceremony. Each teen received a certificate of appreciation and a letter of completion to bring to their respective school guidance counselors. Many of them will use their volunteer hours to earn scholarships.
A total of 67 teens ranging in age from 13 to 18 volunteered during the hospitals summer program. The summer program began June 8th and ran through August 8th . The teen volunteers helped regular volunteers run errands, file in offices, and deliver water to patients, deliver flowers and a variety of other duties The hospitals regular volunteers enjoyed the helping hands.
When a volunteer reaches 100 hours they receive a special pin to commemorate the event. Thirteen of the Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point teens received a 100 hour pin, three received their 500 hour pin and two received a 750 hour pin and two received 1,000 hour pins. Most of those who received these pins were retuning volunteers or they volunteer during the school year. They are as follows:
